Nice SpA is a global leader in Home Management solutions, providing an open and integrated ecosystem that streamlines the intelligent control of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Combining distinctive design, user-friendliness, and sustainability, the company places the enhancement of everyday life at the core of its mission. This commitment drives the development of innovative technologies that simplify daily routines, making living environments more connected, comfortable, energy-efficient, and environmentally responsible.

The Challenge

Nice is a complex organization that collects a vast amount of sustainability reporting data every year from over 40 locations worldwide, managed by more than 120 users involved in processing this information. In the past, this workflow was handled through the compilation of numerous files. The sustainability function was responsible for aggregating both quantitative and qualitative data to obtain the consolidated information needed for drafting the sustainability report. Progress monitoring of data collection was carried out through periodic reviews of the files assigned to various data owners, requiring a significant time investment. The manual management of the process, along with the risk of human error, increasingly highlighted the need for Nice to optimize this strategic activity by seeking a technological platform capable of automating data processing and organizing a structured workflow.

The Approach

To meet Nice’s needs, we implemented a data collection process within a dedicated ESGeo environment, aimed at facilitating year-over-year data comparison and effectively tracking both short- and long-term goals.

A KPI hierarchy was structured in line with the GRI Universal Standards, with a focus on the topics most relevant to Nice. These material topics allow for continuous monitoring of the actions taken to manage actual or potential impacts, both positive and negative.

Thanks to ESGeo, data collection is now managed in a structured way, involving different business functions and enabling clear identification of data owners and approvers. This approach has made it possible to define a comprehensive sustainability data collection flow, ensuring that every area of the company is aware of its responsibilities in managing ESG data.

The Impact

Thanks to the digitalization introduced with ESGeo Suite, Nice has automated its entire ESG data management process, significantly reducing the time required for data collection and analysis while improving overall operational efficiency. The integration of automated controls and structured workflows has minimized operational risks and ensured more accurate and reliable data.

The adoption of the suite has enabled instant access to information, allowing for continuous monitoring and greater adaptability to change. Key benefits include increased transparency and traceability, simplification of corporate data collection processes, and easier compliance with ESG standards, ultimately strengthening stakeholder trust. Additionally, the suite has optimized both internal and external communication, enhancing ESG information sharing and supporting Nice’s commitment to more sustainable and efficient management.

Faster data collection and analysis, smoother communication along the value chain, and reduced management time now enable the company to continuously monitor ESG information and implement targeted, timely changes. This leads to improved internal processes, the adoption of innovative technologies, and the swift engagement of strategic stakeholders.
